My friends and I are working our way through Japan and are spending the night in Kyoto. We explored during the day, and were really looking forward to doing some shopping, but finding out a little too late the shops/street of Ninenzaka is closed pretty early. We are still going to go and walk the street for the view before we grab dinner.
We want to shop for some souvenirs, jewelry, things like that. Is there anywhere in Kyoto to shop in the evening (after 5) that isn’t just a department store of any kind?
Also, any suggestions on last minute things to squeeze in? We messed up and are only doing a day here, when it’s clear we needed more like 3/4. So far, we hiked up monkey mountain and saw the beautiful view, visited the bamboo forest, saw tenyruji temple, walked through nishiki market, and stopped in to have some matcha treats at maccha house. We are visiting fushimi Inari in the morning.( is that a 3 hour hike?)
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
