Hi everyone,
**TL;DR: Need to know what time the Nebuta parades end / Nebuta parade schedule for Aomori City, so I know what time to leave Aomori City.**
Long version: I’ve currently made plans to be in Aomori City during Nebuta (4 Aug), and afterwards, plan to see the rest of Tohoku (Sendai for Tanabata, Nikko). Thus I have a few options for what to do:
1. Travel to Hakodate and stay there for the night (I’ve already booked a hotel).
* Pros: Can leave Aomori city at 10+pm; Get to explore Hakodate
* Cons: I’ve been to Hakodate in 2019; Would much rather not spend nearly 2 hours travelling each direction just to stay for the night
2. Book a hotel in Hachinohe / Morioka
* Pros: Heading in the direction I want to go; Can leave at 9+pm; Can head back to Aomori the next day to see more things
* Cons: There aren’t many decent options in Hachinohe (aside from JR Mets); Morioka seems better, but of course its further so you waste more time travelling.
3. Book a hotel in Aomori
* Pros: No time limit for when to stay in Aomori City until; No travelling required; Can explore Aomori city / Hirosaki the next day too
* Cons: I’m not confident of getting hold of any hotel in Aomori
4. Book a hotel in Sendai
* Pros: Many hotel options; Don’t have to squeeze with the crowds; Heading in the direction I want to go
* Cons: Have to leave Aomori city SUPER early – would have to leave at 8.18pm from Aomori Station just so you can catch the Shinkansen
That being said, I’m wondering how exactly does the Nebuta procession go.
**If the procession starts at 6.50pm, and I watch the parade for an hour while standing in the same spot, would I have seen all the floats go by my spot by then?** According to the map [here](https://www.nebuta.jp/foreign/english.html), being near Aomori station seems to be a good idea (if I can get a spot to stand).
If the above is true, I could actually leave at 8+pm, without missing out on too much.
Would appreciate if anyone who has actually attended Nebuta in person could provide some advise, thanks!
