Hey everyone – I’m planning a trip for my family to visit Japan for 2 weeks in early September. We’ll be doing a week in Tokyo and a week in Okinawa, as I have personal ties to Okinawa from my youth but haven’t been back in almost 30 years.
Whenever we travel anywhere, my wife and I love to find paintings by local artists to purchase and take home to decorate our house. Does anyone have any recommendations for artists studios or great little shops that sell local artwork? I’m not looking for copies of famous art, but instead affordable original works or prints that capture the vibe of the area.
I know there are probably a million places in Tokyo to purchase artwork but if anyone has any specific shops or studios they’ve been to with a positive experience, I’d love to hear them!
