So! I just got married this month (to a Japanese national), and my new husband is going to start work in April after graduating from University. I came to Japan on a student visa, and will also be done with my last semester at my language school by April. We are working on switching my visa to a spouse visa, and he asked me to help out at least a little financially, after getting the new visa. He said even working 3 days a week is fine. Here’s my dilemma: I’m not sure what I should look into for that. My Japanese isn’t good still, so maybe teaching English is my best option. But I don’t have a degree, so I know my options are limited. I’m aware that the fact that I’m already here and plan to be here long term would help, despite the lack of a degree. But, I’m 25 and have done the “stepping stone” jobs that I’ve had to do despite hating them. I’d really like something that won’t make me miserable, and I don’t know if teaching a classroom is for me. I do have some experience with tutoring, though it’s always been under the table. Can anyone suggest what to look into for something that might fit my needs? If there is something besides teaching English that would also work, I’m open to different options. TIA!
