松本人志 cancelled or untouchable…

…Or fake allegations?

Given he has been absent from the weekly shows I watch on TVer and the recent allegations, do you think someone as god-like famous in Japan is untouchable to cancel culture or will Japan pull through and force an early retirement?

  1. It sounds like he is going to drag it through court and refuse to do media until the case is resolved.

The media organization seems confident it has the goods… he seems confident he will be vindicated.

That said, I think it is telling that most of the accusations against him are not actually suggesting he did something clearly illegal, but things that were definitely less than ideal/icky/getting pretty uncomfrotably close to the abuse-of-power/sexual harassment line.

So.. honestly no idea. I suspect it goes to court, some of the allegations are proven true but that the magazine is also held liable for some of its statements… and either he decides to retire because he is fed up with everything or he is back on TV within a year of the trial concluding.
