No it’s definitely dead.
Just reaction from nerves from soy/vinegar. It’s definitely dead
O-dori ebi. Dancing shrimp. I used to make those but not with tiger prawns like this gentleman did. I used spot prawns instead. Delicious either way.
Just cause it moves doesn’t mean it’s alive. It’s dead.

It’s twerking for you 🙂
It always sucks when there’s no location posted. I would definitely eat that.
It’s the electrolytes in the soy causing the muscles to twitch. Not alive.

It’s dead smart guy, it’s just the reaction of the fresh dead having salty stuff put on it

Reminds me of my hometown delicacy in Guangzhou 虾生 throbbing butterfly shrimps sashimi
I’d be a bit too freaked out to eat it at first but could learn to get used to it
That looks good as fuck
No it’s not. The sauce is causing the nerves to fire.
This happens with a number of other seafood dishes including a popular squid dish. When they pour soy sauce on it the tentacles start moving.
Looks fresh enough
Where I was raised a popular past time is frog gigging and frying up frog legs. Will never forget the look on my sister’s face when my dad and I filled a huge bowl with raw frog legs and then started dumping salt on top of them.
I just see a masterpiece
Not my problem
I’ve never had sushi before. But yes that is kind of weird the way it is still twitching from nerves
If you want to taste such food, you can in Japan, a lot of fresh ingredients it will jump. It’s a little scary, but it’s delicious. lol
