Hello Everyone!
Background: I work part time for a company that focuses on business English. They send me out to companies and I teach the material provided to small groups. Love it!
They’ve recently expanded to doing the typical kids Eikaiwa and hired someone for it. That person pulled out at the last minute and they’re now asking me to do some of the lessons for the time being. I have no problem with this but I’m a little inexperienced when it comes to teaching kids as I’ve mostly dealt with adults. Still, I like to try new things so I’m going to give it a go.
I‘ve done some research and picked a few things up but there are two areas I was hoping to get advice on.
Phonics: What is the best way to teach this? Can you suggest any textbooks/workbooks?
Group eiken level 5 lessons (3-4): I’ve actually taught eiken in the past but that was one on one. Any advice on activities to try? I have a vocabulary book and a question booklet at my disposal.
