Trying to watch some Sanada and Naito, and it struck me as a bit odd to put Sanada in the G1?
Logically you’d expect the WHC to be your best hand in the ring, so you shouldnt really have them lose?
You also risk making them look weaker (Looking at you Tanga Loa with that shitty heat spot vs Okada)
More risk of injury of ultimately low stakes/attraction block matches
You cant really have them win the G1 since that doesnt set up anything, and whoever stops the champ’s run should be one of if not the favorite to win it. But youre still handing your top guy a loss
With all of that in mind, wouldnt it be better to have the champ not partake?
