I train judo, in a very average fashion. Naturally, I was curious as to whether I could get some training in during my trip.
For a variety of reasons, judo in Japan doesn’t seem super accessible to visitors who aren’t serious competitive athletes – a bit disappointing, but this got me thinking I could perhaps explore some of Japan’s many other martial arts whilst there.
Has anyone here enjoyed any martial arts experiences in Japan? I won’t be staying in one place long enough for any extended training courses, so probably looking for one off tourist-focused experiences – not snobby about this, as long as it’s fun and taught decently.
Open to all disciplines, both weapons-focused and non-weapons focused. Hit me up with recommendations 🙂
