So I haven’t bought my plane ticket yet but I booked a hostel in Osaka and put in my time off request for May 1 through 9, which I didn’t think about at the time it overlapping with golden week and every site I’m seeing saying to expect a lot of crowds lol… oh well, I don’t \*really\* want to reschedule as it’s probably the latest time that works for me this year and flights seem to only go up in price after that. I’ve put off travel for longer than I wanted cuz it never seemed like the ideal time or I wasn’t sure how everything would work out, so I’m really motivated to just make this trip happen and make the best of it. I’ll have 5 nights in Osaka from Thursday to Tuesday but want to go to Kyoto, Nara, or Minoh park at some point during the trip.
I don’t have a specific schedule but I was thinking of:
\* go to Kyoto early for a day to walk the parks/gardens, (monkey park?) visit fufu no yu onsen, sagano romantic train
\* visiting nara OR minoh waterfalls (could this be a half day excursion?)
\* I feel like I’ll be content spending a lot of time just wandering around osaka, window shopping, hitting up some record stores, checking out galleries/museums, getting drinks in the evening etc. I’d like to visit Osaka castle of course but it doesn’t have to be a major stop if it’ll be packed.
Suggestions for what to prioritize/when to do them or what I should probably skip are welcome. I’m pretty chill and usually just have fun being in a new place, just want to plan ahead a bit so I’m not frustrated navigating too many big crowds. would also love some recommendations on live music bars to hit up in Osaka
