I’ve visited japan many times (and lived there) so I’ve been through a lot of the country. Travelling with my partner who has been once before and did the usual tokyo, kyoto,osaka, hiroshima, takayama (as well as magome, karuizawa and shirakawa go).
This is the plan for our trip in October (from NZ)
Love onsens, music, nature and food. Probably less focus on shrines and temples this time.
We’ve got one extra day up our sleeves (hence the gap on day 17) – where would you add a day? Maybe Uji for more time in Kyoto? Or would kamakura or the izu peninula benefit from another day?
