hi! i ran into trouble today while i was applying for my student visa, as i currently hold a tourist visa for my family xmas vacation to japan in a few weeks lol. i was supposed to return home after our vacation in january then after one week fly back to japan for my exchange program.
i was informed that i had to cancel my tourist visa and instead use my student visa to enter japan on december, then get a residence card in immigration so i could exit and re-entry.
i have a couple of concerns regarding this though, tyia to anyone who can help out!
1. my CoE has january as my start date since i wasn’t expecting that i couldn’t hold two visas at the same time.. will i be able to apply for a residence card at the airport even if i arrive on december?
2. my CoE is also the new electronic one that was provided to me by my university, can I use this to apply for a residence card, no need for physical copy?
