Hello. My spouse & I will be traveling to Tokyo and Kyoto at the end of this Month for the first time in our lives. We’ll be staying in Kyoto for 4 nights and 5 days. I would like to ask here what would be the most efficient way to see the following places over 5 days. We’re in our late 30s and can walk 15K a day but we don’t want to cram everything and rather take more time to see things as we both love photographing things. Also, we are not going to take bicycles or a pedicab. Just trains & buses.
The places we want to visit are the following:
– Arashiyama Bamboo Grove (We’re inclined to take the Sagano Scenic Train)
– Kinkakuji
– Ryoan-ji
– Imperial Palace
– Nijo-jo
– Gion
– Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka
– Kiyomizudera
– Fushimi Inari Taisha
– Philosospher’s Path
– The National Museum of Modern Art Kyoto (We’ll spend half a day here)
Please, any advice is welcome. TIA.
TLDR – We’ll be in Kyoto for 5 days. How to group the above mentioned places so we can get around efficiently with public transportation?
Edit: bullet points
