Question about Goshuin and crowds

Hi all,

I’ll be in Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka from mid-March to mid-April. I know this is peak cherry blossom and peak tourist season, and I fully expect to be among crowds upon crowds of people everywhere.

I was researching about Goshuin, and absolutely loved the idea of visiting the temples, getting them and filling up a Goshuincho of my own.

With the crowds, will it be too much of a hassle to get the Goshuin? Do really long lines form, or do most tourists just ignore Goshuin? How long should I expect to wait for a Goshuin in a busy temple / shrine?

Any feedback from anyone (especially if you got Goshuin when it was peak tourist season) is very much appreciated!
