For example recently I’ve looked at japanese temples and a lot of them will end with -ji temple. But in japanese 寺 itself means temple so is this a weird translation issue and a lot of temples are translated into english as -temple temple? For example 黒石寺 on google is Kokusekiji Temple. Should this really be translated as Kokuseki Temple?
