Wanted to check with some experts here on NISA account set up.
Tried to sign up at several brokerages including Rakuten, SBI, Monex, Matsui and it appears that you cannot sign up online directly?
They all appear to have a first question asking if you have residence elsewhere or if you are a foreigner? And they require you to call or you have to send papers back and forth with them before they can approve for you?
Anyone done this before? What specific “details” do we need to further provide in account set up?
What counts as a “residence” in Japan? I mean we are from other countries but do we check yes or no here?
Any expertise in this field would be much appreciated!!
