I just came home to that in my post box. I’ve been living here for almost 2 years but this is the first time I’ve received that or any kind of noise complaint.
Some weeks prior, the person below my apartment had hit the ceiling a few times when I had dropped something a bit late at night and they are my only neighbor (except for 1 person next to me).
I think I was a bit more noisy the past month, so I can understand that they’d complain, even though I didn’t know it was that loud apparantly.
Anyways I thought about writing a letter of apology, the polite Japanese way and take more care of the noises I make.
But my Japaneae colleague said that maybe it would be better to not get in contact with a person who complains like that.
Does anyone have experience with that? The way it is written is a bit scary for me to be honest, but I’d really like to resolve this.
Actually I prepared a small letter of apology plus a 1000 Yen Quo Gift Card to calm them down (because I in fact was noisy), but not sure if I should put it in their post box or not …
