When moving to Japan partway through the year – are taxes paid for the whole year? And when and how to register business income? Before end of 2023?

1. Moved to Japan in November of 2023. Am I supposed to register for anything tax-related as an individual before the end of the year 2023? And also, I am hoping and assuming that any tax that I owe Japan would be calculated based on the number of days I was in Japan after I moved, rather than the whole year – am I correct? The rest should be owed to Canada where I lived until now. Please confirm.
2. In short, in Canada, my wife and I owned a partnership (like sole proprietorship, not a corporation) between myself and my wife. We had business income (from a number of contracts and freelancing) come in and business expenses, such as costs of doing business (home office expenses, accounting fees, phone bills, outsourcing, etc) offsetting that income, bringing the total gross income down to actual net income. That net income was being split between my wife and myself. We set it up ourselves by registering the partnership online through a government website. Does Japan have a similar way to structure income for my wife and I and if so, how would one go about it? Also, similarly to question 1 – do we have to do anything before the end of 2023?

Thanks
