Hi guys, this is my second semester taking Japanese and I’m almost done with Genki I. I have an assignment for class to talk about my favorite tradition. I wrote this all based on my own knowledge, plus a couple dictionary words. I’m mostly satisfied, but would like feedback in case I need to polish stuff. I have some specific questions I’ll “footnote”.
Statement:
私が自分のでんとうを感じるのはディアデロスレイエスマゴス（Día de los Reyes Magos）です。(1) 毎年一月六日、メキシコ人はディアデロスレイエスマゴスを祝います。一月六日、たくさん小さい贈り物をもらいます。子供の時、映画とお菓子をもらったりしました。ディアデロスレイエスマゴスのでんとうの中で、ロスカデレイエス（Rosca de Reyes）を食べるのがいちばんたいせつです。あまいパンです。ロスカデレイエスの中に、小さいあかちゃんのイエスにんぎょうがあります。にんぎょうを見つけたくないです。(2)ディアデカンデラリア（Día de Candelaria)で、にんぎょうを見つけるの人はみなさんにタマレを作りますから。父は何時もかくして、よく見つけます。(3) すごくおもしろいです。父母はりょこうするのが大好きだから、子供の時あまり家でクリスマスを祝いません. (4) ディアデロスレイエスマゴスはわたしのくりすますでした。だから、ディアデロスレイエスマゴスが大好きです。
(1) How do I say “*on* January 6th you do…”? what’s the right particle for “on”?
(2) Same question as 1
(3) おもしろい works for funny, right? or does this come across as “interesting”? is there a better word I should be using?
(4) What’s a good word for “so,”? I had そして, which doesn’t imply the same thing I think…
