Just got offered a job in Tokyo for overseas sales.
All is great and I can’t wait to join the company, but I have one problem.
My degree has nothing to do with sales. The visa I have to get should be International Services. From what I see and what I have been reading, there is a requirement for 3 years of experience or a degree in a related field.
The company didn’t say that it would be a problem at any point. They have other foreigners working there so they do have experience with hiring foreigners.
Also important to mention I will enter as a 新卒(shinsotsu).
What I want to ask is, has anyone been through this situation before? (I mean obtaining a CoE for overseas sales without prior experience) Is that requirement irrelevant even with my degree being in sports? I heard that they don’t really care as long as you have a degree but some confirmation would help.
