Hellos, Im planning to go to Japan in March on holiday and I would like to watch an Njpw show, Im a long time wrestling fan though I dont usually keep up with NJPW as much as id like to. If you had a choice between the anniversary event and the start of the new japan cup, which event would you go to, which would you expect to have a more interesting card?

Anniversary will be a bigger show than the start of the Cup. You should get the annual Heavy vs Junior champ match as a main event, plus a fun undercard. Cup show would be preview tags and a few first round matches, nothing fancy
Anniversary show is more important and with the number of Cup shows you’re probably getting 4 Cup matches max (with field of 32) per show, max. Possibly 2.
Anniversary Show is much bigger than the opening night of a Tournament. The main event of the anniversary show is usually the Heavyweight Champion vs Junior Heavyweight Champion
NJC if you want to see unexpected stuff, anni show is kinda lackluster because you’ll know every match’s result since the card releases
Anniversary show. I saw one a few years back, and it was one of the best njpw experiences I’ve had in Japan
