We’re looking to move back to Japan in the latter half of 2024. If we liquidated our existing investments, we could potentially bring €200,000 to €250,000 with is cash (assuming the exchange rate returns to approx. 130JPY to EUR we’re looking at 26,000,000JPY+).
I was just wondering what options would be available to us if we wanted to use that lump sum with the goal of generating income? While I’m not expecting massive returns, I’m wondering what kind of yield could be expected? Would 2-4% be realistic?
While this would not be enough for us to live off of, in theory it might allow our moving budget (approx. €50,000) to stretch out a bit longer by covering some minor expenses.
