Where Should I Study Abroad?

Hello! I’m in a special program for college that allows me to study abroad for a whole year in Japan, and my options for schools are Rikkyo Daigaku in Tokyo or Kansai Daigaku in Osaka. The first semester, starting next fall, will be at the school and the rest of the year will be an internship in the city I choose to study in relating to my major (Tokyo or Osaka). My majors are Japanese and Marketing. I’ve taken 3 years of Japanese at my home university and have completely finished Genki 1 and 2, so I have a good foundation of Japanese to continue building upon.

My problem is I’m having a really hard time deciding which school to go to. There’s pros for each and it’s hard for me to wrap my head around where I want to go. Some goals of mine are to improve my Japanese, visit as much of the country as I can, and gain as many fun and unique experiences as possible. Another thing is I’m not religious at all, and I know Rikkyo is a Christian school so I’m not sure what to think about that or if it’ll have any effect on my studies there. I also plan to take classes offered in English other than the Japanese language classes.

I’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts, opinions, and experiences, including how the lifestyle is in each respective city.
