Hi there, I have a question regarding my upcoming trip to Tokyo and the surrounding area.
As far as I’m concerned, you should tap your IC card out and back in when transferring between companies at a given station. There are usually gates separating the two companies’ platforms, but what if there aren’t?
During the trip, I will have to transfer between the Odakyu Line and the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line at Yoyogi-Uehara station. The two train lines share the same platform, thus there are no transfer gates (see the photo [here](https://1drv.ms/i/s!AiJnWcmtEGh6gdRzkvVjtONcrtjelg)). Do I have to exit and reenter the station through the main gateline, or will the system somehow process the transfer when I exit at my final Tokyo Metro station? I’ve heard some stories of IC cards getting blocked in situations like those.
