Hi there. I’ve been studying Japanese for almost 3 years now and this coming April am planning on doing 3 weeks study in Fukuoka followed by a weeks hiking in Kyushu and then we are considering a week in Okinawa and the islands.
However a friend of ours, who is a “weather buff” says he doesn’t want to come to Okinawa in May (we’d be arriving 6th onwards) as it’s the Plum rains and it will be too rainy to enjoy the outdoors?
Are there any Okinawan locals here who can let me know what the rains are actually like etc?
