So I recently got 新完全マスター文法 textbook, and reading the first few grammar points I can understand them but I don’t understand the exercises and why some answers are considered incorrect
For example the first grammar point
〜際（に）
『名』ーの ・『動』辞書形/た形＋際（に）
練習三番目のは
（ ）際は、こちらのテーブルを使いいただけます
A お食事の B ご飯を食べる Cお一人様
My first question is why on this grammar does it suddenly change to 際（は）and
second is why is A (according to the textbook) correct? Aren’t B and C also grammatically correct or am I misunderstanding something?
Same with 〜とたん（に）
『動』た形+とたん（に）
練習一番目
（ ）とたん、眠くなった。
A勉強が終わった B勉強をした C勉強をしていた
Again the answer is A, but why isn’t B or C correct?
The textbook doesn’t really explain why it’s A nor why the others are incorrect, can anyone help me out?
