We have a Panasonic washer/dryer combo with a heat pump and it works well. The only issue is the time it takes — you have to wait until the load is done drying before you start on the next one, which can take a few hours.
I want to avoid gas dryers (eg. Rinnai Kantakun) for various reasons, so I was wondering if there are standalone dryers (200v?) that can complement the Panasonic so we can just use the Panasonic’s washer function and use the standalone dryer while we start the wash cycle of the next load.
It sounds like the way heat pumps work requires water drainage which doesn’t go along with the “no hookups required” marketing of electric stand-alone dryers on the Japanese market. I also found some commercial and European brands but they cost more than buying another Panasonic washer/dryer combo…
