Hope you are doing well 🙂 I made a post previously on possible plans on this Japan trip which due to unfortunate circumstances, I have had to adapt and make it a solo travel one. I did receive some good advice, but I am still having trouble on the length of stay in some of the places or doing day trips instead, and unsure if it’s worth getting a rail pass or not. I have now created a rough itinerary and I to see your honest thoughts whether it is doable, or too jammed packed, of if you have any suggestions on places I can skip or add. Keen to hear everyone’s honest experiences!
March 25th – Arrive Osaka evening (Stay in Osaka)
March 26th – Day trip Kobe (Stay in Osaka)
March 27th – Day trip Kyoto (Stay in Osaka)
March 28th – Osaka /travel to Himeji (Stay in Himeji)
March 29th – Himeji /travel to Hiroshima (Stay in Hiroshima)
March 30th – Miyajima Island/Hiroshima (Stay in Hiroshima)
March 31st – Hiroshima / travel to Fukuoka/Hakata (Stay in Hakata)
April 1st – Travel to Beppu/explore Beppu/Yufuin (Stay in Yufuin)
April 2nd – Yufuin/Beppu/travel back to Fukuoka (Stay in Fukuoka)
April 3rd – Travel to Nagasaki/explore Nagasaki (Stay in Nagasaki)
April 4th – Nagasaki/travel back to Fukuoka (Stay in Fukuoka)
April 5th – Day trip to Kumamoto (Stay in Fukuoka)
April 6th – Fukuoka
April 7th – Fukuoka
April 8th – Fly to Busan
Possibly thinking to get JR Sanyo San’in Northern Kyushu Pass (7 days) if it works out cheaper for the way I am travelling, and get shinkansen where possible to save time.
Just additional information. I have been to Osaka, Nara and Kyoto before. I will be travelling with a suitcase and a backpack.
