hi! visiting osaka by end oct (halloween season)! can you recommend galleries/art shops/2nd hand furniture store to visit where i can buy from small artists/businesses
The area to the south west of the Umeda Sky Building between Osaka Station and the river has a lot of little galleries and shops so it’s a good area to walk around in.
There’s a small gallery in Honmachi, Osaka called chignitta, they also serve coffee there so you can chill, drink coffee and look at art and artbooks. Every Wednesday they do jazz nights called Sui Jazz ( litterally wednesday jazz in Japanese )
In Shinsekai, just near the tower at the end of a little shotengai, there’s a glass-making studio/cafe, Dragon Glass Coffee, where you can buy some unique glassware (including some of the most elaborate smoking equipment I’ve ever seen), and grab a CBD infused coffee made with rare beans. The owner/operator is pretty damned awesome, too.
Osaka is all about the hustle, and I usually don’t indulge in that, but I’m more than happy to plug that place.
