We will have 4 nights and 3 full days in Hiroshima for our trip in May, it seems like we can do everything we want in 2 days which leave us one free day. I’m exploring day trip options – Both my partner and I are massive foodies, with Fukuoka/Hakata being one of the best food cities, we are wondering if it’s worth it to visit Hakata for a day trip? And is it doable? It doesn’t look too bad on paper just over 1hr each way on the fastest Shinkansen.
We also enjoy small/quieter towns, somewhere off the beaten path. Are also looking at Saijo (Sake breweries) as an option. Any other recommendations? Thank you so much.
