Okay, so 1 in 4 have experienced sexual abuse. But only 1 in 3 of those came from a teacher or fellow student.
So about 1 in 12 young people between 16 and 24 have experienced some sort of sexual abuse or harassment from school. Which is still far above acceptable, but a far cry from the article’s fear mongering headline. And still under the rates in western educational institutions.
We can all agree any form of sexual abuse is wrong and needs to stop, but misleading articles aren’t helping.
>It conducted an online questionnaire survey on 221,000 individuals, both male and female. Unwanted sex-related words and deeds were defined as “sexual violence.”
Selection bias + weak definition.
One 11 year old kid yelling at the other to “suck my dick” is sexual violence now.
i haven’t been, but I’ll just do it anyway just coz its childish and im a child
thats it im moving to japan and teaching english at a high school!
This is some really sketchy data analysis if im being honest
