Has anyone here applied/worked for Line Fukuoka?

I’m sorry if this question does not belong here, I’ve tried looking for more recent answers, but every post I’ve seen regarding this place is about 6-ish years old or slightly less and I can’t really find the answer to all my questions. I’ve tried asking r/cscareerquestions, but nobody had any answers, so my apologies. I will delete this post if it does not belong.

Recently, I’ve applied to the Line Fukuoka office and surprisingly, they responded and have sent me a qualification test. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I still want to ace this test, and do my best to try to get a position. I’ve tried to find any information online via Glassdoor, but there weren’t a whole lot of responses regarding my specific position that I applied for, and they all seemed to be pretty negative experiences. I also checked vorkers(?) and I couldn’t find anything regarding the hiring process.

Has anyone taken the coding test for Line, and what type of questions are on there, and how hard are they? I’ve seen people say their test was 3 hours with 6 questions, but mine is 60 minutes with 5 questions. How was the interviewing process and what’s the process like? Were they helpful overall to get you relocated into Japan, and what are the Japanese classes actually like? Do they place you within a school or are they LINE Branded Japanese classes if that makes sense? lol

I would ask questions about the Fukuoka area, but I know there are tons of posts asking that already. Thanks so much!

Edit: I also wanted to mention that I did find another post from about a year ago, but mostly people seem to talk about Salary, but I don’t care about that aspect at that point since I’m not that far yet.

  1. Fukuoka is a great place to live.

Maybe find someone relevant from Line on LinkedIn and reach out if you have relevant questions otherwise just go through the process and make up your own mind. A lot of the time you won’t get smarter by asking the internet, just more confused.

I’ve applied for LINE Fukuoka a year or two ago, passed the CV screening, did the coding test and had an video interview, but eventually didn’t get any offer.

While I’ll not spit out all the details of the coding test I’ve taken (It’s in their NDA and I’ll adhere to that, and it’s probably why you won’t find people openly discussing the content of the tests), I’ll say it’s similar to the ones available in coding practice website (LeetCode, HackerRank, etc). Some questions were about general data structure and algorithm, and one or two questions would be more specific to the position you applied for.

So your best bet is to practice coding as much as you can before the test. And that’s also what the people from LINE said when I asked the same question in a recruitment talk.
