While doing this video, I had some mixed feelings. I loved the entire Best of Super Jr tournament and it showcased some amazing wrestlers but I definitely had some grievances about the final and would love to know if anyone felt the same!
I agree it just didn’t make sense. They had Hiromu play up the injured knee the whole tournament to protect him. Only to have him go over anyways and conveniently forgot to sell his damn knee closing the match.
Really stupid choice by NJPW.
Honestly, looking at the history of NJPW booking through they years, not much has changed. They’ve always had a junior Ace and heavyweight Ace who has ruled over their divisions for long periods of time. Think Fujinami and Tiger Mask in the 80’s; Hashimoto and Liger in the 90’s; Tanahashi and Kushida in the 2010’s. Now it’s just Okada and Hiromu. But really tho, Despy true winner in my heart
