Back in the days when the two of them were both wrestling in Dragon Gate USA they were both a part of the same faction (Kamikaze USA). I know it’s not likely to happen due to New Japan not having access to any of the footage from Dragon Gate USA, but as someone who was watching Dragon Gate back then, both the Japanese and American sides of the company, I wouldn’t mind if some of that history came up in the build up to their match.
