For some this is probably obvious, others are probably like me that have tried to avoid reading in my studying thinking that there are other equally efficient ways.
BUT, After about 3 years of studying im quite late getting to understand that reading is superior way of studying. Lazy as I am, ive always tried to find easier ways of studying, watching netflix and YouTube, doing Anki or apps etc. Ive never really liked reading, in any language to be honest, but having started to read alot more lately Ive come to realize that reading give THE most bang for the buck.
Meaning reading 1 hour, give you about as much knowledge and practice as YouTube for maybe 3-4 hours, or 6-8 hours of podcasts. This is at least my impression of how much more efficient reading is than other things. Whats your impression?
Key is to read something thats not too difficult, so that you understand the vast majority and come into a good flow. This might not be easy if youre on beginner level. But at least around N2 and above you dont really need much other than reading.
