Can I get a job at an international school with about 2 years of teaching experience in the US?

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this post is a bit vague, but after browsing this sub and looking for positions online, I’m still confused about where to begin.

I am a New York state certified ELA teacher and I was wondering how to go about getting a job teaching at an international school in Japan. I was also wondering about what kind of lifestyle the job would be able to provide.

While I don’t have a master’s yet and I’m not tenure track, I worked as a full-time teacher during a leave replacement last year and am currently filling another leave replacement now that will run until May. Will this experience be enough to get me hired? Where are the best places to look for jobs online? Where are the best places in Japan to find work?

As I mentioned earlier, I am also curious about the lifestyle. Are international school teachers able to live comfortably on their salary? Is the school year/schedule like in the US? How are the students?

I’m sure that all of this is circumstantial but I appreciate any information you all have to offer!
