I am in Tokyo quite often and will be here even more in 2024. Fairly well setup with Japanese phone, apps, sim etc. The one thing which has seemed to allude me thus far is loading money onto a Family Mart account.
Obviously no foreign credit cards but is there another way to load a balance on there? I was hoping for an option to load a balance with Paypay but that does not seem to be possible. I assume cash loading does not / will not work (ie no cash receiving receptacle at the terminals) . Maybe via an ATM?
This is a 0/10 of actual importance but I am always jealous of those who can self checkout around lunchtime! Do I have any hope with this stupid goal?
