Cycling around Kyushu for 4 weeks. Anyone have any experience with camping/auto camp grounds?

Hello, I’m planning a cycling trip around Kyushu this Oct-Nov, about 4 weeks cycling around the island. This is the first time doing a trip like this. I’m planning to mostly camp with a couple nights in hotels in major cities/towns. I have my route down and identified possible camping spots but am finding it difficult to gather information about the campsites as the websites are difficult to navigate/translate.
I want to avoid camping ‘illegally’ and the free campsites I have found are few and far between. The campsites I have found on Google maps (Hadomisaki Camping Ground, Osaki Auto Camping Ground as examples for my first 2 stops) are pretty much all paid campsites. Before I run through each individual campsite I had a few general questions I wanted to ask about camping/auto campsites around Japan/Kyushu.
Would it be necessary to book these in advance or will I be able to show up and pay without a booking? Do these camp sites fill up easily during these months? I could not find any information about needing to pre-book on the Hadomisaki camp website, despite there being a link to a ‘reserve’ page and the Osaki camping website links always lead me to dead pages.
Due to my desire to camp in designated locations, certain legs of my route need to be longer than desired and means I will probably arrive at my destination in the evening. For the Hadomisaki campsite it states that check in time ends at 17:00. If I happen to arrive at any particular campsite after their stated check in hours, would I be able to set up, stay the night, and pay the next day?
If you have any other advice please don’t hesitate to mention.
Thanks!
