Please excuse my ignorance… this is my first typhoon in Okinawa. I have a trip scheduled to mainland Japan for Wednesday morning and I’m curious if flights are usually cancelled or rescheduled during typhoons? I’m wondering if I need to be proactive and cancel travel plans, hotel, etc. or just let it play out.
Moreover, if you live on the beach do you need to evacuate or get a hotel inland?
I’m from Florida so I’m familiar with hurricanes, is this similar? Do I need to prepare and stock up on water and food like I would for a hurricane? My daughter’s school messaged us tonight and said they would likely be closed next week but would update us later in the weekend.
