Itinerary check May 4-31: Tokyo, Hokkaido, Fuij, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Yakushima

Hi guys, this will be our first time visiting Japan. My girlfriend and I want to see culture and nature. We have booked the flight from and to Tokyo only the rest of the accomodation, activities and transport we will book later. We would love to hear any recommendations or feedback on our planned itinerary.

We have a few considerations, to skip Hokkaido completely to take it on a more chilled pace. We are also considering to spend more time in Osaka. Or have we missed some important places for first timers to go to? What do you think of this itinerary?

**4 May: Tokyo**

We will arrive at 13:10 at Narita airport. Then we will head to the hotel and explore the neighborhood of the hotel.

**5 May:**Visit a Sumo wrestling Day in Tokyo. And enjoy our day in Tokyo

**6 May:**Take part in a sushi cooking class. And enjoy our day in Tokyo**7 May:**Visit teamlab planets in Tokyo. And enjoy our day in Tokyo

**8 May:** Nikko DaytripWe will have a daytrip to Nikko and visit the most visited places of Nikko.

**9 May: Tokyo to Sapporo**Take the flight NH 987 of 6:25 to Sapporo we will arrive in at 7:55. And Enjoy the rest of our day in Sapporo.

**10 May: Sapporo to Furano**

We rent a car early in the morning and travel to Furano where we will enjoy the nature.

**11 May: Furano to Daisetsuzan National Park**

We will drive to Daisetsuzan National Park and enjoy the day. Later that day we will sleep at the Furano hotel.

**12 May: Furano to Sapporo**

We will drive from Furano to Ashikawa and from there to Sapporo where we will bring back the rental car and check in at our hotel in Sapporo.**13 May: Sapporo to Kawaguchiko**Take the 06:07 train from Hakodate to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. Then the train to Tokyo and the bus to Kawaguchiko when we arrive at 13:24 we check in at our onsen and enjoy the onsen.

**14 May: Kawaguchiko**Spend the day in and around an onsen in Kawaguchiko

**15 May: Kawaguchiko to Kyoto**Check out from the onsen and take the train to Kyoto. Then explore Kyoto.

**16 May: Kyoto**Start an early morning to visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine.

**17 May: Kyoto**Explore Kyoto

**18 May: Kyoto**Start an early morning to visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

**19 May: Kyoto to Koya-San**Travel from Kyoto to Koya-San. Check in at a temple stay and stay in a temple.

**20 May: Koya-San to Osaka**Wake up early to see the monks rituals. The in the afternoon travel to Osaka.

**21 May: Osaka**During the day to Universal studios Japan. In the evening enjoy Osaka.

**22 May: Daytrip to Nara**Daytrip to Nara.**23 May: Osaka to Miyajima island**Take the early morning train of xx to Himeji Castle. The at around 16:00 we want to take the train to Miyajima Island.

**24 May: Daytrip to Hiroshima**Daytrip to Hiroshima

**25 May: Miyajima island to Fukuoka**We want to explore Miyajima island and in the afternoon travel to Fukuoka by train

**26 May: Fukuoka to Yakushima**Explore Fukuoka a bit in the morning.We have a flight to catch at 13:00 to Yakushima (Flight JC 3673).When we arrive at 14:05 we want to go to the car rental and check in at our hotel. And explore the island.

**29 May: Yakushima to Tokyo**Check out at our hotel and bring back the rental car. We have a flight to catch at 09:55 to Tokyo (Flight JC 3673). We will arrive at Haneda airport at 12:40. We will travel to our hotel and explore Tokyo.

**30 May: Tokyo**Explore Tokyo for our last day before going home.**31 May: Tokyo to Brussels**Check out at the hotel. And check out the last things in Tokyo, before travelling to the airport because our plane is leaving at 17:30 from Narita airport.
