I am asking where to buy a nice scarf for a Christmas gift in the Ikebukuro or Shinjuku areas, I know nothing about women’s stores here so some places where I can get one and also get it wrapped would be good.

Lumine department stores in Shinjuku
Not too cheap and not too expensive can mean different for many people. Like a LV scarf is too expensive but a 30,000yen scarf from United arrows is ok. So it’s a bit hard to recommend an exact place.
Anyway In Shinjuku Takashimaya and Isetan are good options. These department stores have gift wrapping services. Keio dept is very old lady.
Lumine 1 & 2 are good choices. Many clothing apparel stores sell nice wool scarfs like United arrows mentioned above. Lumine Est is more cheaper and more aimed at teens and youth. Most of the stores there sell scarfs in polyester/acrylic but if you are young it’s probably ok. Beams and Beauty and Youth down in B1 is an exception though.

Muji or cos are decent, I picked up a Canada goose one for the wife a few years ago and was decent price and good quality if thinking about a higher brand scarf.

Besides shops, I’d also pay attention to material. I find normal wool in general too scratchy. I like cashmere, silk and cotton.

You can buy her a nice muffler (scarf) at the agnes b. boutique inside Isetan Shinjuku 2nd floor. They’re between 13,000 to 15,000 yen. Agnes b. is a well-known French brand, good quality. I have a lot of her clothes and accessories. Most women know of agnes b. and appreciate her clothes. You can’t go wrong with with this one.
You can check out tanuki studio online for cuter designs, their store is a little far away though
