Looking for an answer from anyone who has bought a property. On the Certificate of Registration (登記簿謄本), were you able to use your name in alphabet letters, or did you have to use katakana?
I used alphabet as that was what was used on my ARC.
It was all katakana for me.

Same katakana as on your seal registration that you should already have done at your city hall. Work on your hanko stamping skills, you’ll be doing that a lot.
They used my 通称名 in kanji.
English name, based on the passport, hanko was used and it is in Katakana.
Thank you all for your replies. It’s interesting that names are treated inconsistently – I thought it would be more bureaucratic and rigid. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I can use alphabet.
