Rating NJPW Matches from 2022-2017: Part 1: Battle Autumn 2022

This is the first part of my mission to rate matches from 2022-2017 (maybe when I’m done I go further than 2017)

So as I said this is the first part of the series if you will, and the first show is Battle Autumn 2022. These are my thoughts on the matches I watched from this show.

Now, I only watched the one match from this show, and it was Will Ospreay vs Tetsuya Naito. Here are my thoughts.

This was a fantastic match, it started off extremely fast paced, and in the middle there were some cool moments but it did slow down a lot. This did not take away much from the match as it was still fantastic. The ending sequence was awesome, there were a few dodgy/botchy moments but they were quickly fixed and definitely could’ve been worse. If this match had maybe 5 or 10 more minutes, it definitely would’ve broken the scale for me and could’ve been a serious MOTY Contender.
