Hello. I am currently an exchange student residing in Japan. For the past 6 months, my school has been ignoring many issues that were supposedly covered months before my enrollment. (These include my medical issues as well as issues that have resulted in me enrolling in a second school). After a new string of issues, I feel my only option at this point is a lawyer. I have tried talking and reaching out in every way and nothing has worked. Unfortunately, their only response is to tell me to just get up and leave. I tried having a meeting with them yesterday, and was only met with yelling and emotional outbursts from the representative. The only problem is I would owe thousands to scholarships I was given, that has been used for living expenses, medical expenses, and personal expenses.
I currently have a meeting with a free for foreigners consultation, but would like to know if anyone has any other recommendations. For example, lawyer firms or even names. I am currently located in central Japan. My Japanese is at an intermediate level if that helps.
