Hi! Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post, but I am a little confused by the Kyoto city bus map and what routes are passing through what stops. More specifically, when looking at the Shinmachi Oike bus stop, on the bus and subway map, routes 62,63,65 and 66, while the web map shows that only route 15 runs through Shinmachi Oike. I also can’t find any information on the 62,63 65 and 66 on the timetable. Does anyone know which it is and what I should be looking at?
Also do I assume that all routes run in both directions, unless specified that they only go in one direction?

I used google map’s public transport routing function during the eight months I lived in Kyoto. I almost never had any issues with its accuracy.
So theres like different types of buses within the city. The 15 bus is a Kyoto-shi bus (green ones) and the 63,64,etc. are Kyoto bus (brown ones). They have different routes, and the bus stops are marked in a different way even if they are both at the same spot. There are also blue buses that are from JR. In any case, google maps has the info on all types of buses and will tell you the best choice.

the 15 is the city bus (京都市バス) and those others are kyoto bus (京都バス), so you won’t find info on the 62, 63 etc on the city bus website
No way we could have gotten anywhere by bus without Google Maps, but we used them a lot — between Icoca cards and Google, Kyoto transport was a breeze.

Hi, welcome to Kyoto, I’m a local resident.
The first one, route 15 is “Kyoto City Bus”, that is public transport.
And the others in the second picture are “Kyoto bus”, they were running by private company, so that is the difference.
Also I checked their website, and it looks like all of the routes run in both directions.
FYI. I think you can take both of them with same “Bus 1 day pass” thing in central area, maybe you should purchase that.
