I’ve lived in Japan for 7 years and never felt the need to get a credit card until I got convinced by friends about the benefits.
First I got rejected by AmEx last week, and Epos rejected me soon after a phone call they made to confirm my personal info.
What am I doing wrong? I have coworkers who got approved and they haven’t even lived in the country over a year. I don’t have any debt in Japan or in my home country. I’m a member of the Private School Mutual Aid Association, and I’m told that I could definitely get a card from them but maybe I should wait for a while before I file another application? Any insight would be appreciated.
