We will be in Okinawa in early October and trying to sort out where to stay based on 1) Not sure if we will be comfortable driving a rental car on left side of road, 2) hope to snorkle a few times. We are an active couple who enjoy activity and exploration. In an ideal world, we’d stay at/near a beach where we can just swim out to see fish. But I’m seeing posts that hint that the rules are quite strict, with restricted areas for swimming and perhaps requirements of wearing life jackets? If that is the case, then I’d probably just opt to stay Naha or similar and get on a boat excursion out to reef. Thank you for suggestions!
