Hi all. My wife and I just returned from our first trip to Japan. The whole trip was wonderful, though we mostly explored various spots in Tokyo, plus a one-day trip to Mt. Fuji. We’re planning to return next year in March to catch the cherry blossoms. We’re heading to Tokyo (again), plus Osaka and Kyoto.
That being said, I’m curious as to how we’d be able to travel from Gotemba Premium Outlets to Shin-Fuji Station. Here’s the plan:
– We’ll take the Odakyu Highway Bus from Shinjuku Station to Gotemba.
– After shopping, we then need to find a way to go to Shin-Fuji Station so we can take the Shinkansen to Osaka.
Unfortunately, I’ve checked Google Maps and Rome2Rio, and the instructions were confusing at best. For instance, I’m seeing estimates of roughly 2+ hours by bus (from Gotemba to Shin-Fuji). That, or the buses only operate early in the day (nothing for the afternoon).
(1) What’s the best way to go from Gotemba Premium Outlets to Shin-Fuji Station–afternoon trip + nothing too expensive like a taxi?
(2) We’ll bring a couple of luggage strollers each. Does the Odakyu Highway Bus have any specific rules regarding luggage and is the luggage storage mostly clean?
Thanks!
