Hey guys, I’m from Canada, I’m on a 6 month working holiday visa. I arrived in Japan November 20th 2023. I am looking to renew my visa for another six months. The process seems easy enough & I’ve tried to look for people’s recent experience with their renewal and I haven’t found much RECENT experiences. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need? I know I need to bring things like residence card, passport, application renewal form & so on. Just want some reassurance & add anymore info you can. I will be going to the immigration office in Tokyo.

I tried using the online system to renew my working holiday status but immigration in northern Japan later called me to tell me I had to come in person and bring those documents you mentioned, as well as my return flight ticket and a bank statement showing I still have money to sustain myself (I’m assuming $3500 CAD or more like the Japanese consulates in Canada’s website explained). My experience was that they were polite and would tell you what you need if you asked them.
