So I received an email this morning notifying me that I was accepted into a study abroad program at Hosei University. While I was writing my application for the University, I realized something when they asked for my gender. There’s one problem, I’m transgender male to female (MTF). All of the other issues such as medication I can handle myself, but the primary issue I’m concerned about is that I’m listed as a female in my home school’s system, but my passport says I’m male. I could have it changed to say female, but if I get placed into a female dorm with only females allowed, I’m worried I’ll be in some kind of trouble for this, since I don’t fully pass quite yet. Any thoughts on what I should do? I haven’t found anyone else online that has a situation quite like mine.
